Andre Rivera (he/they) is a Latine character designer, illustrator, caricaturist, game master, performer and voice-over artist. His work largely focuses on the blend of the natural, the magical, and the civilized, and demonstrating the personality of characters that inhabit these crossroads. His primary mediums for visual art include digital, graphite, colored pencil and marker.
Andre grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and began their visual art career in high school as a caricaturist at the Indianapolis Zoo and soon after opened up for personal commissions for school theater productions they were also involved in, the first iteration of combining performance with visual arts. Soon after, they were accepted into and attended Herron School of Art + Design at IUPUI for a BFA with distinctions in drawing and illustration where he took great influence from Al Hirschfeld, Bill Peet, NC Wyeth, TS Sullivan, Bruce Timm, Yuko Ota, Saira Vargas, paleolithic cave art, and medieval European manuscript illumination.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Andre took a year-long break from education to work in the online tabletop roleplaying space. He worked as both a player and a game master alongside production channels like The Welcome Inn and co-founding the channel Total Party Kiss. They have participated in campaigns such as Tragedy of Theolosian and The Atomless, as well as longshots such as The Unicorn Hunt, The Red Line and Power Rangers: The Next Generation.
